Make Mother’s Day One to Remember with Rita’s Gift Guide!
I’ve only been a mother for a few months, and as any mom knows, motherhood has its highs and lows, each a learning experience that stretches you in new ways.
But as I approach my first Mother’s Day, I can honestly say that it’s the littlest moments I have had that caused the biggest shifts in me—and even changed the way I think about Mother’s Day. It isn’t about just one or two of us. It’s about all of us.
Whether you’re just stepping into the world of motherhood or have been in the trenches for decades, parenting is tough.
So this year, on my inaugural Mother’s Day, the biggest gift I’ve received is the clarity of what being a mom truly means to me, and the importance of TIME. Time to love up on our littles, to take care of ourselves, or do what we love.
Need more ways to show love and enjoy our time together on Mother’s Day 2022?
Let’s support women-owned businesses as we get those thank-you gifts to all the moms in our lives—here are a few options with all the right vibes.
Facts: moms run on caffeine. Peace Coffee is B Corp certified and female-run, and since they’re our neighbors in Minneapolis, we had to give them a shout-out!
Peace Coffee started way back as a non-profit, prompted by research done by the Institute for Agriculture & Trade Policy, which found that farmers in Mexico were struggling to make ends meet due to the lack of coffee importers who paid a fair wage.
Thus Peace Coffee was born (see what we did there—another Mother’s Day tie-in!) and they’ve been roasting their beautiful beans ever since, and have been awarded Best For The World in the Community category in 2018, 2019, and 2021 by B Corporation.
And if Mom would rather get her caffeine with a side of probiotics, our Energy shots do the trick, too!
Everybody has a story about cooking with their mom, right? And these days, regardless of the ingredient, we all want trust and traceability.
Brightland sources its ingredients from a family farm right here in the United States. They source olives for their olive oil and grapes, oranges, and ripe blackberries for their vinegar in Paso Robles, California.
Brightland’s founder, Aishwarya Iyer, says that she believes “…in the California sun and soil, and the beautiful olives, grapes and fruit they yield. It’s my wish that our products provide abundant nourishment to you and the people you love for many breakfasts, lunches and dinners to come.”
We’re sticking with the cooking vibe for this incredible women-owned venture – Fly By Jing.
Jing Gao started her company in 2018 after being inspired by all of the flavors of her hometown Chengdu, in China and she uses her skills as a trained chef to share meaningful flavors that open people up to new ideas and conversations
Fly By Jing’s products include sauces such as Sichuan Chili Crisp, “Savory and succulent dumplings,” and a Mala Spice Mix that she describes as “warm, versatile, and numbing.”
If you’re still looking for a kick after trying Fly By Jing, our Immunity Ginger Cayenne shot should do the trick.
What could be better for mom than allowing her some time for a little self-care?
Cocokind isn’t your typical skincare company. They are focused on creating products that are gentle on the skin, and affordable, and also want to ensure everybody has a safe place in the beauty industry. This is botanical-forward skincare with a side of self-acceptance from founder Priscilla Tsai.
Not only this, but Cocokind shares their carbon footprint on every single bottle they sell, holding themselves accountable to sustainability and offsetting their footprint any way they can. Just make sure you take something off of Mom’s schedule so she has the time and space to pamper herself to the fullest.
And if you want to round out her beauty regimen with something that promotes radiance from the inside out, consider our Beauty shot with silica, biotin, and probiotics.
At the end of a long day caring for littles or having a house full of older, louder kids, there’s almost nothing better than crawling into bed with some fresh high-quality sheets.
Parachute’s bread-and-butter is bedding, but they also create furniture, home decor, and even robes and loungewear. But their dedication to sustainability is what really makes them stand out.
Parachute is Climate Neutral Certified, and is working toward creating its very own recycled products: the first, a pillow created from recycled down from returned Parachute pillows. Their core products are also Oeko-Tex® Certified, which means they are free from more than 100 substances known to be dangerous to humans and the environment.
And if mom could use some help drifting off to dreamland, we’d recommend trying our Sleep shot to support a blissful night’s rest.
Happy Mother’s Day, moms!
